He feels that the group doesn't have the same loyalty to each other as his other group, and is upset that we won't overlook actions by his character that go against the party's decisions or beliefs. We tried to discuss this, and figure out exactly what the problem is. However, rather than answer the questions in my latest email, he just up and quit altogether. I found this extremely upsetting, since I honestly want to know where he's coming from on this issue. I tried very hard to keep my messages free of angry replies, going so far as to wait several hours before replying to one message that I found particularly upsetting. My efforts were for nothing, it would seem.
I feel that I've worked very hard these last few months to try to understand his position and help him stay in the group. It hurts me that doesn't want to talk about this, but would prefer to just take the easy way out, blame us for all of the problems, and run away. He says that he's tried to make us understand what he doesn't like about the group, but I don't know when he thinks he did this. He won't answer my questions or explain why he feels that our characters persecute him. Out of the four characters of his that I can think of that have left games, two of them left because they felt they couldn't work with one other person. Yet he complains that we can't overlook issues we have with his character? We didn't force him out - he made his own decision to leave. But he blames us for it, apparently. It makes no sense to me.
I can't figure out if I've lost a friend over this or not.
